Internship Overview

VCDC is looking for motivated and proactive college students and those holding certificates/endorsements to intern in the following departments:

Business Management:
  • Business Management interns will assist in the daily operations of Vasilios Community Development Corporation
  • Business Management interns will also make contacts and network with partnering companies
  • Students Majoring in Business, Mass Communications, or related fields are preferred
Business Marketing:
  • Business Marketing interns will help market and brand Vasilios Community Development Corporation
  • Proficiency with social media is required
  • Experience with sales is recommended
  • Students Majoring in Marketing, Sales, Advertising, or related fields are preferred
Social Work:
  • Social Work interns will work directly with the clients of our affiliate, JumpStart University
  • Duties include: establishing life plans and setting goals with clients
  • Access to transportation is preferred
  • Students Majoring in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields are preferred
Education:
  • Education interns will assist with the operations and curriculum formulation of JumpStart University
  • Education interns may also teach one of the classes for clients
  • Students majoring in Education or related fields are preferred
Child Care:
  • Child care interns will set-up and develop the opening of our pre-school
  • Child Care interns will then assist in the daily operations for the daycare center and pre-school
  • Duties include: activity planning and ensuring the safety of the children
  • Students majoring in Early Childhood Development, Child care, Child Psychology, and related fields are preferred

Internship Fair

All interested in interning with us must attend the Internship Fair, which will be held at 900 W. Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23220. Interviews will run from 9am until noon. Interested persons may arrive anywhere in that timeframe. Appointments can be scheduled in advance here.
